The Abu Aisha Agricultural Project is a key initiative under the Authority for the Utilization of the Man-Made River (Jabel Al-Hasawna/Al-Jefara System).
Located in the Jefara Plain, approximately 60 km south of Tripoli (along the Gasr Ben Ghashir-Tarhouna road), the project covers a total area of 4,700 hectares. It comprises 664 individual farms, each spanning 5 hectares, with a total irrigated area of 3,320 hectares..
The Tarhouna Agricultural Project is one of the strategic new initiatives managed by the Authority for the Utilization of the Man-Made River (Jabel Al-Hasawna/Al-Jefara System). The project is designed to enhance national production and achieve food self-sufficiency by utilizing advanced irrigation technologies and sustainable water management.
The project is strategically situated on the middle branch of the Hasawna-Jefara water system. It is located along the road connecting Tarhouna and Bani Walid, approximately 120 km southeast of Tripoli.
